05 • The journey

Past → Present → Future

A business story that moves from general building work toward smarter property improvement.

Past

Experience built through refurbishment, conversion and property improvement work.

01

Present

Delivering professional building services for residential and commercial clients.

02

Future

Growing into energy-efficiency upgrades that help landlords prepare earlier and invest smarter.

06 • One clear opportunity

Window installation & house efficiency

The proposition

Upgrade the property.Protect the rental income.Plan before the deadline.

House upgrades can be part of a wider energy-efficiency plan. The exact measures needed should be determined from the property’s EPC and a qualified assessment.

Peeman’s role

The EPC timeline has changed — and early action matters.

October 1, 2029, is a transition deadline rather than a compliance deadline. If a rental property gets an EPC rating of C under the current system before 1 October 2029, that rating is “grandfathered in” and remains valid for compliance until the certificate expires (up to 10 years).

  2. 2027

    Legislation comes into force

  3. 1 OCT 2029

C-rated EPCs may receive transition protection

  4. 1 OCT 2030

Could fund selected improvements — but the actual work required to reach EPC C must be confirmed from the property’s EPC/assessment.

Option 1 · Act early

  • ✓Assess → Plan → Upgrade
  • ✓Spread the work over time
  • ✓Lock in a practical plan
  • ✓Improve the property before the deadline

Option 2 · Wait

  • !2029 arrives first
  • !Less time to plan
  • !Possible pressure on labour/material availability
  • !Rental strategy may be affected if the property is not compliant
